On page 10 of this book, it speaks about how some people lead vigorous lives. They somehow take everything as a challenge. They keep learning until the day they die. They have strong ties and commitments to other people and to the environment they live in. They enjoy whatever they do and are never bored. Perhaps their greatest strength is that they are in control of their lives.
I will see later in this book how this is achieved.
Page 16 of this book speaks about how to overcome anxieties and depressions in our current life, we as individuals must become independent of our social environment. We are no longer affected by its rewards and punishments. Enjoyment should be found in any situation you're placed in.

Old lyrics!
I can't believe I wrote this in 2004... It was a period when I was starting to write rhymes and trying to figure out my style. I would write all the time just to write...
I'm paranormal, I'm a ghost when i write shit.
I dress formal, on the coast with clothes that tight fit.
I hit you with these rhymes like a one two punch,
like Mike tyson on fight night, where your ears is my lunch.
I'm in your mind thoughts and apparitions,
you make bad decisions just like bad physicians
who make bad incisions for circumcisions.
Now go and blame me cause you had stabbin' visions.
YIKES!
Seemingly I was having a difficult time in my life in December 2004:
In a state of confusion, I'm like a paper weight straight
laid me down to sleep, I'm neither asleep nor awake.
elaborate methods have made me put myself to test, because
my wifey doesn't share feeling for me's got me depressed. what does,
my life mean, it's like a buzz my heads spinning in butter!
My brain jerks, my life dull, I'd throw myself inta the gutter
start ta stutter, hide me in the clutter my brains in. What are
the symptoms of a grown man goin insane playin with some cutters
Carry on.......

Flow
I finished the book on The Game. I'm now reading Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. So far:
Flow has been written about in tons of books explaining how to get rich, powerful, loved or slim.
However the book I'm reading explains more on how to just be happy and to use "flow" in it's entirety.
What would really satisfy someone is feeling good about their lives, and not just in ONE particular area.
Note that I will be posting snippets from the book On this blog. Ideally, these will be parts that will make you sit, think and reflect.
Pg. 7
"Only if we understand the way subjective states are shaped can we master them. Everything we experience - joy or pain, interest or boredom - is represented in the mind as information. If we are able to control this information, we can decide what our lives will be like."
To paraphrase the next line: The optimal state of inner experience is about order in conscious. Thus you have realistic goals, and skills that match opportunities for action. By focusing on a goal, you tend to forget everything else around you. As well, you'll notice that those periods where you had to overcome a challenge were probably the most enjoyable times of your life.

Rocks versus Gold
The Game - Page 325
There's a pattern the pickup artists have called rocks versus gold. It's a speech a man gives a woman he's dating when she stops having sex with him. He tells her that women in a relationship want rocks(or diamonds) while men seek gold. Rocks, for a woman, are wonderful nights out, romantic attention, and emotional connection. Gold for a man is sex. IF you give a woman only gold, or a man only rocks, neither will be satisfied. There must be an exchange.

The Game - Neil Strauss
OK OK... I put aside my other book for now and start BLAZING through this book.
It's absolutely amazing... I love it. These guys have basically turned social behaviour and social interaction into a formula (in terms of talking to the opposite sex). No longer do you have to go out and just randomly talk to someone. You can use a formula to make it work.
I decided to apply the most basic technique this weekend. I simply "negged", and nothing more.... A "Neg" is when you jokingly place your target (a female) down.... You tell her her eyes blink too much, or something else that's a negative PLAYFUL comment. This makes you look chill and you're not intimidated by her presence. It worked without fail, each and every time.
WHY am I reading this? Well, technically it goes along with every other book I've read so far. It just so happens that I'm also single, and figure these techniques could help me out as well. Although in general, I'm trying to eat up ANY and ALL information on social behaviour/social interactions to see where it can get me.
THEN... it's back to learning about software and photography!
OK, now to eat breakfast! :)
