It seems as though when our neurons are still developing, the endocannabinoids actually damage the neurons. Researchers are still not sure why this is. However, once the neurons have developed, it begins to assit in the survivial of aging neurons.
THC seems to suppress the toxic effects of the so-called a-beta protein that may kill neurons in Alzheimers disease.
Scientists are trying to extract the exact part from the THC to further analyze it!
